Gay Bars in Thailand

Being gay in Thailand is accepted as the Thai way of life. To celebrate the rights, diversity and freedom in the country gay pride events are celebrated every year across three of the major cities. Due to this Bangkok, Pattaya and Phuket have some incredible gar bays which you are perfect for both straight and gay people to dance the night away in.

DJ Station

DJ Station is the leading gay bar in Thailand. Some locals say if you haven't been to DJ then you haven't experienced being gay in Bangkok. The three floored venue is packed every night and starts with a number of ladyboys lip syncing to classics. The night then heats up with male dancers taking to the stage. The music is a great selection of pop and R&B whilst the drinks are very cheap.

Trasher Bangkok

Trasher offers legendary parties in Bangkok but only occur a few times a year. Each party is announced on social media with each time a new theme taking centre stage. If you have been before the themes have ranged from Romeo and Juliet to an 80s night. The party may not be an exclusive gay event but the wild parties certainly bring everyone in Bangkok together.

G.O.D

Located between Soi 2 and Soi 4, there is a brand new gay bar that is trying to rival DJ Station for their crown. G.O.D, which stands for Guys on Display, is a brand new venue which is bigger than its competitor. The music tends to be house tunes whilst dancing boys has attracted large crowds. Entry is free which shows how confident in club is in delivering an amazing night out.

Lesbian Bars

Despite the fact that the LGBT community is so well recieved it is a surprise that the number of lesbian bars is scarce compared to the number of gay venues for men. However, as there are only a few lesbian-friendly venues they have been able to perfect your experience meaning can still have an amazing night out.

Zeta

Located at RCA Block C, Rama 9 Road the recently opened bar is the first and only all-girl bar in the town. Yes, that means strictly no men, boys or even drag queens are allowed in the venue. The venue offers a friendly atmosphere for lesbians to relax. The staff are all girls and the interior is perfect for a young and trendy crowd. Every night live performances also take place such as the Mr Sister Band who perform most days.

Lesla Night At Chit Chat Pub

In Choke Chai a rapidly growing lesbian community are joining together. Every Saturday night, Lesla hosts a weekly meet up for its lesbian members to all meet under one roof. It is like a date night where people can mingle and get to know each other. Themes do change and entry cost 150 baht (£3.40) which include a drink.

Vega Cafe

Vega Cafe is actually owned by a group of lesbians. The venue combines a bar with a restaurant and attracts a mixed crowd. The two-floored venue has karaoke upstairs for you to unleash your inner diva whilst downstairs every Friday and Saturday nights host live local bands. This spot is also quite well known for attractive local celebrities.
